About me

latest version: August 3rd 2024   About me My name is Immanuel van Driem, born in 1988, from Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. My father is American (from Los Angeles) and my mother is Dutch (from Amsterdam). As I taught myself Arabic in the last years of high school and knew some Hebrew I studied Islamic Studies and Judaism at the University of Freiburg in Germany (the latter being my hometown, where I also live.) Another occupation of mine has always been music- since childhood I play piano; I also sang but that I would only start again with 19, when it was discovered that I had a very nice baritone voice, which became a tenor voice. I also composed and do so again today. At the end of my university years I became very sportive, as I have always been. I played soccer in various teams of my town and am a fast runner.
